Recruiting company donated 1,700 volunteer hours, $66,000 to local community through employee-focused giving program
(JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla.)—PPR Talent Management Group, a Jacksonville Beach-based recruiting company, donated over $66,000 and 1,700 hours to more than 60 Jacksonville charities in 2016. The milestones mark the company’s highest year of giving in its 20-year existence.
This year’s charitable highlight included funding the Dr. Ruth Stiehl Scholarship for University of North Florida nursing students: a $25,000 trust in the name of PPR’s Vice President of Clinical Quality.
The 60-plus organizations PPR donated time and dollars to include Wolfsons Children’s Hospital, Seabreeze Elementary School, Operation New Uniform, Mission House, the Jaguars Foundation, Daniel Memorial and more. PPR also continued its commitment to the company’s charitable mainstays such as Bike MS: PGA Tour Cycle to the Shore, the Jacksonville Humane Society’s Mutt March and the Boselli Foundation’s The Cut event.
PPR even also hosted and organized several charitable events of its own this year, including a Jacksonville Beach Clean Up and Trivia for Charity, benefitting the Jacksonville Humane Society. Most recently, PPR donated 200 cans for the Feeding Northeast Florida Food Drive, collected at the company’s annual Thanksgiving potluck. The company was also active in Hurricane Matthew cleanup at Jacksonville Beach.
PPR, a 200-person company, had over 90-percent participation from its employees for charitable giving and volunteering this year. The company practices an employee-focused giving program, granting individuals eight hours of annual PTO annually for volunteer work in the Jacksonville community. Employees are encouraged to not only give back to organizations they are passionate about, but organizations their teammates are, too. PPR’s community service committee regularly communicates volunteer opportunities and employees’ own charitable endeavors so others can support.
“Often, people want to get involved in the community, but don’t know where to start,” shared PPR Talent Management Group Chief Operating Officer Bill Boutwell. “Our committee allows us to bridge that gap by bringing opportunities to our employees while fostering teamwork.”
The community service committee also tracks and sets company-wide goals for dollars donated. For 2016, the goal was $50,000—an amount PPR far surpassed with a final total of $66,050. PPR’s total hours volunteered in the community clocked in at 1,710. PPR incentivizes employees to give back by throwing an annual Halloween Bowl-a-Thon: a half-day costume party at Beach Bowl for those who help the company reach charitable giving goals.
PPR’s leadership team is extremely active in the Jacksonville community, serving on charity boards including the UNF Deans Council College of Health, Children’s Home Society, the Boselli Foundation, Mission House, the North Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and more.
