It’s that time of year again. Schools around the country have let out for summer, contracts from the 2014-15 school year are over, and now’s the time to start planning for your next contract. Whether you’re looking to stay put or explore a new area of the country, what you do over the next few months will be critical to finding that perfect school position.
The school hiring process is cyclical; we see the same thing year in and year out. Administrators go out of the office once summer time comes and the school year is over. This is when there’s a lull in hiring. It’s the perfect time to reach out to your recruiter about your wants for the upcoming school year. Make sure you’re both on the same page about exactly what you’re looking for in your next position. As we get towards the end of July, administrators will begin returning to their positions and that’s when the mad dash to hire will start. Positions will open and close quickly, so stay in close contact with your recruiter. We’ll end up seeing positions from a month before school starts to a month after it starts.
The most important thing over the next few months will be to stay patient until the hiring begins. Enjoy your summer, take a little vacation or just relax. Information on locations we expect to see positions is available on our website. And as always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us!
