48 hours in one week?

Many of our nurses travel to see the country, meet new people and seek new experiences.  That is great and the travel industry is the perfect way to accomplish all of those things.  Then, we have some nurses that travel for the cash.  These nurses want to maximize their earning potential by working more hours or seeking the higher paying jobs.

So why not dabble in both scenarios?  Have your cake and eat it too! If you are in it for the travel experience, but are still open to working some extra hours or overtime, booking an expanded hours assignment might be a perfect fit for you.

So, what is an expanded hours assignment?  Good question! Simply put, it is when both the nurse and facility agree to schedule and work an extra shift(s) during each week or every other week of the assignment.

The every other week option (work 36 hours one week/48 hours the next) is a great way to get more hours one week, but still have some down time to do all the fun things you want to do.  If you are traveling for the core purpose of maximizing your earnings, you could work extra shifts every week, more of a 48-hour type schedule.
